The safety of our staff, volunteers, and presentation attendees is and always has been of the utmost importance to us. As Islamic Resource Group is an organization that focuses on face-to-face education and relationship building, we know you might have about our services during COVID-19.
Is IRG still offering presentations?
YES! We have successfully transferred our presentations to an online format. As of the 2020 Fall semester, we can provide live virtual presentations, pre-recorded presentations, and socially distanced in-person presentations depending on the comfort of the classroom and the speaker. We continue to provide the same level of highly tailored care to each presentation audience, and especially hope to engage with schools during the 2020–2021 school year.
How can I request a virtual/online presentation?
Through our usual request form, you can select “Virtual/Online” presentation and follow the form prompts. You can also email us directly to set something up if you have questions.
Is IRG still providing professional development training?
Similar to our presentations, we are offering online professional development depending on the needs of the organization in question. Global crises are often rife with misinformation and xenophobia, so this is a great time to develop your organization’s intercultural and interreligious literacy.
Has IRG explored other forms of public education during COVID-19?
Yes. During Ramadan 2020, we launched a well-received Ramadan Video Series featuring IRG speakers and other community members. We also held a successful Eid Zoom fundraiser where we were able to engage with the wider community instead of celebrating together in person.
How is IRG engaging speakers during these times?
We’ve held several Zoom calls with our speakers to discuss our experiences with COVID, but also have brought external speakers for continued learning about topics that affect the Muslim community. We look forward to continuing this effort into the upcoming school year.
